报告内容:This presentation will provide an overview of our main research activities with a focus in the area of continuous manufacturing of metal nanoparticles in 3D printed reactors, nanostructured materials and catalyst design.

i. Reaction engineering: ranging from the development of 3D printed microdevices for the continuous production of metal nanoparticles with tuneable sizes to differential reactors for kinetic studies and membrane reactors.

ii. Integration of reaction and separation steps in chemical processes: with two main activities in the area of i. multiphasic systems in emulsions and ii. Metallic membranes for gas separation.

iii. Development of nanostructured materials as catalytic supports with a focus on the structure-property relationships of a wide range of materials such as ceria, titanate, alumina and magnesia. In this field, we investigate the use of certain morphologies for the physical stabilisation of metal nanoparticles (e.g gold, ruthenium) for a wide of catalytic applications.

iv. Low temperature activation of molecules, specially methane and CO2 utilisation.

v. Use of ammonia as a vector of sustainable hydrogen. Our activities range from the development of low temperature ammonia decomposition catalysts, integration within the existing PEM fuel cell technology and life cycle analysis.

报告人简介:Dr Laura Torrente is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge. She has multi-disciplinary expertise in the areas of reaction engineering, process integration, sustainable chemical processes and energy. She is a member of the UK Catalysis Hub, the UK Manufacturing and the Engineering Forums and scientific expert of the European Commission. She has received the Future leaders in Engineering Sponsorship Award and the Rushlight Carbon Capture and Storage Award.
